Desert Safari Adventure - A Mixed Bag of Thrills and Lows Last week, we took a desert safari ride near Dubai. The desert itself was a mesmerizing sight, with vast, golden dunes that left a lasting impression. The journey from central Dubai took about an hour, but it was well worth it.
We traveled in a 4x4 Nissan Armada, a stable vehicle that handled the terrain well, though I found the seats uncomfortable for the bumpy ride. Our driver and guide, Usman Mohammad from Islamabad, Pakistan, was a cheerful and knowledgeable companion. His insights into the geography of the area were fascinating, and his skills as a guide shone through—he even took some artistic photos of everyone onboard, capturing the spirit of the safari perfectly.
After the safari, we enjoyed three shows. The first, an Egyptian male dance, was impressive, with the dancer putting on a fantastic performance. The fire show was equally thrilling, with the performer executing daring stunts that had the crowd cheering. Unfortunately, the belly dance, which was meant to be the highlight, fell short. Although the dancer performed well, she didn’t embody the traditional, curvaceous style that brings so much grace and authenticity to belly dancing.
In summary, the desert safari had some definite highlights, especially the desert views and the fire and Egyptian dance performances. With a few improvements, particularly in comfort and the quality of the belly dance, this could be an exceptional experience.
